my reflection

I think this project was a really fun thing to do. I enjoyed learning all the things about the Flint River that I never knew before. I have learned that the 1994 flood has a 1 and 500 chance of happening again. They call it a 500 year flood. The ’98 flood has a 1 and 100 chance in repeating and it’s called a 100 year flood. I also have learned that a flood is when there is water somewhere you don’t want it to be. During the flood in ’94 the trees on the flint were almost completely underwater.… Continue

Ichauway Blog Post

Today I learned that the River Keepers call 1994 flood a 500 year flood. Mr. Woody Hicks explained that there actually isn't any such thing as a 500 year flood, it just simply means that there is a 1 in 500 chance that a flood of that magnitude will ever occur.
