Reflection

The Immersion Project was a fabulous end to a long school year. Our administration has found something for their students that not only is educational, but is also an amazing experience. The literature group learned about the Flint River by using their creative skills, and by analyzing during our poetry contest. Poetry Days

We spent two days working on our poems. Tuesday we went off on our own and found a quiet place where we could work. I found an area right on the water, and it was close enough to our picnic area (in case I saw a snake). I truly enjoyed having the time to sit and meditate on what the river inspired in me. I managed to write one short poem and one long poem. We had gone out on the pontoon boat earlier to see the river from a different perspective. Fun in the Sun

So far, the Immersion trip has been an amazing experience. We have spent every single day on the river! Monday we went to talk to Mr. Wayman and he took us to see the areas that he has taken photographs of on the river. He instructed us to pay special attention to the photos he took, and then examine the differences that were in nature.
