Sydnee's Weekly Reflection

This week has been so much fun! Looking back I have learned so much this week about all of the different aspects of the Flint River. I was in the science group.During the four days, I was with four different teachers.



On Monday my group was with Mrs. Betty looking at the different plant life near the river. We were in the woods on the Morgan's land. We saw many different types of trees and flowers. When we got back to school, we identified all of the different things we saw… Continue

Group 1 and 2-Day 4

Group 1
Today group 1 was with Mrs.Betty looking at the different types of plant life. They were in the woods behind the Morgan's house.


Group 2
Today group 2 was with Mrs. Jenni. They were in the river looking for macro invertebrates. The group saw numerous snails, water bugs, and muscles.


Both groups really enjoyed the immersion project!

Group 1 and 2- Day 3

Group 1

Today group 1 was with Mrs. Jenni looking at macro invertebrates. They saw many species such as craw fish, snails, dragon flies, and four feathers. This group also saw a king snake in the middle of the dirt road.





Group 2

Group 1 and 2-Day 2

Group 1



Today group one went kayaking with Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Linda Morgan. Although the weather was overcast they had a lot of fun. They ended their trip with lunch at the Cox's house.



Group 2

Group two was collecting water samples today. They went to four different sites. Here are some of their findings.



*Site 1*

-The sample was taken at the dock.

-The temperature was 24 degrees Celsius.

Water Testing

Today my group and I went with Mrs. Dean to collect water samples. Mr. Joe Curles, Jr. and Mr. Joe Curles Sr. took us on the boat to collect our water samples. We went to four different sites. Oir group collected samples in cooler and smaller containers. After we finished collecting the samples, we came back to Mrs. Dean's room. When we were back in Mrs. Dean's room we split up and began testing. Kyndall and I tested the phosphates and nitrates. When we all finish ,we will compare our answers… Continue
