Bugs and Awesome Stuff.

Today, my group went to Mrs. Linda Morgan's to go into the river. We went to an inlet on the river, where the current wasn't very strong. This would be a great place to find the micro-invertebrates that we were searching for. We started down stream, then worked our way up the river bank, flipping over rocks, looking for micro invertebrates. It was very interesting when we found new creatures. My Flint River Reflection

I have had a great time working on the flint river. It has been a once in a lifetime experience. I hope that it won't actually be a once in a lifetime experience though. This has definitely been a worth while experience, in which I have learned much about the community and wildlife that I live in. I've been able to do water testing, kayaking, search for critters, and observe the wild flora of the region. Trees

Yesterday my group was fortunate enough to travel to the Flint River with Mrs. Betty. We got to ride on her mule most of the time due to her being tired. On the trail along the river, we stopped many times to identify trees, flowers, and other indigenous plants. Each of us in the mule had a tree guide to identify distinct trees.
