Flint River Project

An immersive authentic educational project by Westwood Schools in Camilla, GA US

The First Day we went to the Joseph W. Jones Research Center to talk to Woody Hicks.We interviewed him on the flood effects he had experienced .He was a very intelligent man and told us a lot about the floods he had experienced in his life . We also went to the bell tower to take pictures of the changes from when it was flood to now .At the Ichuaway Research Center we went to the bridge to look at the Ichauway river.


The second day on the Immersion Project we went to Riverview Plantation to talk to Mr. Cader cox III , Mr .C4 ,and Greg Hays . After we interviewed we rode around with my dad in a jeep owned by Riverview. We went around looking at past flood damage the Flint River .

On the third and final day of our Immersion Project we went to the river for a pontoon ride . It was alot of fun and we got to see the flood affects that were still prevalent in that area . After that we went to pineland to interview Chap Enfinger on his duties at Pineland . He toured us around the area and we got to go to a scenic location aliong the Flint River .

This is a nice blog post with great photographs as well. You might want to upload some of these to the photographs section of the Ning as well and make a photo album. It was an excellent day and you did a great job coming up with questions - I thought your questions were particularly insightful and that you, Joseph, and Hunter did a nice job with them.
